Basic Game (Optional Rules)

Pitcher Fatigue

Starting pitchers will maintain their grade for 36 batters at which time, after the first hit, walk or hit batsman, his rating is reduced by one grade. (As a further option, use 32 batters for 1990 to present pitchers, 36 batters for the 1920-1989 era, and 40 batters for 1919 and back. I realize these are broad strokes, but it is the basic game.

Relief pitchers with a relief grade only (i.e. B*, C*, etc.) maintain their ratings for 9 batters before their rating is reduced by one grade. The pitchers rating is then reduced by one grade after every 3 batters he faces thereafter. (Option: 1990 to present pitchers maintain their ratings for 6 batters then reduce)

Relief pitchers with split grades (i.e. D(C*), C(A*), etc.), or primarily starting pitchers used in relief maintain their ratings for 12 batters. The pitchers rating is then reduced by one grade after every 4 batters he faces. (Option: 1990 to present pitchers in this case maintain their ratings for 9 batters then reduce)
